The piece continually shifts and deviates from the expected to create an ever-changing soundscape. To achieve this, Karukas employs frequent time signature changes and metric modulations along other compositional techniques. Redshift requires an immense amount of technical control and dexterity from the soloist, while also honing their skill in musical shaping and line.
