Knock Knock by Anabel Perez-Brennan is an advanced multi-percussion duet inspired by the familiar sound of knocking on a door.

The piece begins with a concise rhythmic motive that is passed, manipulated, and expanded between the players. As the duet unfolds, layered textures and shifting accents create mounting energy before a metric modulation launches the music into a groove-driven final section.

Written with a compact and visually engaging setup, Knock Knock uses two snare drums flanking a bass drum topped with a resonant wooden plank, allowing performers to create a surprising variety of timbres from a limited collection of instruments.
