The Lord’s Prayer is one of the most iconic sacred verses in the English language. It was famously set to music by Albert Hay Malotte in 1935 and has been performed by some of the most renowned artists of all time.

Now, thanks to Tapspace artist Julia Gaines, this amazing music is available to marimbists in a unique and touching arrangement. Julia was inspired to arrange this work while traveling in Russia in 1989. She asked the vaudeville xylophonist Val Eddy, who had been performing an arrangement on xylophone, if she could play around with it marimba for her own marimba arrangement. Julia was also urged by her father, a pastor, to add the theme from Amazing Grace to the middle section, thus giving the piece a unique ebb and flow.
