Instrumentation:

• Marimba — 5-octave*

Christmas 4 Marimba by Stephen Primatic brings together 15 short holiday arrangements for four players sharing a single 5-octave marimba.

Familiar carols and holiday favorites receive treatments ranging from simple adaptations to more adventurous settings with unexpected harmonies, rhythmic twists, and contrasting styles. We Three Kings becomes a jazz waltz, Patapan unfolds in four-part counterpoint, and Jolly Old St. Nicholas takes on a samba feel, to name just a few!

Arrangements are short (approximately 1–2 minutes), making the collection useful for individual concert selections, short sets, or transitions between longer works. The entire collection can also be performed as a roughly 20-minute medley in any order. All arrangements are intended to be played without a conductor.

This collection included the following pieces:

1. Away in a Manger (Med-Easy – 1’15”)
2. Jingle Bells (Med-Advanced – 1’15”)
3. Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella (Med-Advanced – 0’45”)
