My Favourite Songs | Dirkjan van Groningen

I always wanted to record an album with some of my favorite pop, jazz and fusion songs.

Recorded in the summer of 2021
When I ended up having more time than I usually do in the summer of 2021, I rented a space and got to work. I first recorded all bass guitar and drum parts together with bassist Nico Staal, and by the end of the summer holidays I had also recorded all marimba and vibraphone parts.  

Mixed and mastered in 2022
Of course I wanted to mix and master everything as quickly as possible, but that always takes more time than you think. When the world ended up opening up a bit more at the beginning of 2022, some regular jobs immediately came my way again, which put this project under pressure. 

Released in 2023
But now at the beginning of 2023 I can proudly say that my first solo album is finally available!

Because I like having something tangible, I decided to give you the following options. The album is available in :
