Originally a marimba & piano duet, Almost Beyond was inspired by the poem and beautiful watercolor print of the same name by StoryPeople creator Brian Andreas. Now scored for a full keyboard percussion ensemble with 2 optional auxiliary percussion parts, the piece is even more powerful.

Instrumentation: "Bells & Crotales (2 octaves)* Vibraphone 1 Vibraphone 2 Chimes & Xylophone Marimba 1 (4.3-octave) Marimba 2 (5-octave) Optional Percussion 1 (suspended cymbal, wind chimes) Optional Percussion 2 (concert bass drum, tam-tam) *If Crotales are unavailable, this entire part may be played on Glockenspiel."
