Clinics & Workshops
Er is niets leuker en bevredigender dan een groep muzikanten vooruit te helpen tijdens een workshop of clinic. Daarom willen we graag met je in contact komen om te kijken wat we voor jouw drummers en/of slagwerkers kunnen betekenen.
We kunnen een bijeenkomst organiseren voor drummers, percussionisten of ensembles om aan techniek te werken en een leuk stuk in te studeren. Het is ook mogelijk om een gastrepetitie of workshop te organiseren bij jouw ensemble of school als je input wilt van de componist of auteur over een stuk waar je aan werkt, of over een specifiek methodeboek dat wij hebben uitgegeven.
De afgelopen jaren zijn onze componisten, arrangeurs en auteurs te gast geweest bij verschillende bands, scholen en ensembles in onder andere België, Frankrijk, Duitsland, Italië, Polen, Nederland en de VS.
Ons uitgangspunt is altijd om een prettige en leerzame ervaring voor alle deelnemers te creëren.
Hieronder vindt u informatie over een aantal “standaard” slagwerkworkshops die we in de loop der jaren hebben ontwikkeld.

The Groovy Drum Band
Veel Europese drum bands spelen nog steeds veel traditionele muziek. Wist je dat er tegenwoordig veel ‘groovy’ drum band stukken beschikbaar zijn die je publiek in echt beweging krijgen?
Invloeden uit de popmuziek
Deze stukken bevatten veel invloeden uit de hedendaagse popmuziek en zijn, vooral voor jongere leden, leuker om te spelen dan de traditionele drum band muziek, omdat de stukken veel meer aansluiten bij de beleving en ervaring van jongere spelers.
Groovy muziek
Workshopleider Dirkjan van Groningen is gespecialiseerd in het schrijven van ‘groovy’ muziek voor drum bands en (marching) percussie-ensembles. Goede voorbeelden zijn de volgende stukken die hij schreef voor zijn ‘School Groove Packs’ en ‘T&M Cadence Packs’, die uit meerdere delen bestaan.
Inhoud van de workshop
De workshop bestaat uit het uitleggen van essentiële (basis0 technieken en het werken aan een tof ‘groovy’ drumstuk uit een van de bovenstaande pakketten. We kunnen het niveau van de workshop aanpassen aan het niveau van de spelers van jouw drumband of slagwerkensemble, waardoor de workshop ook geschikt is voor jeugdensembles.

Skilled workshop leader
Workshop leader Dirkjan van Groningen played at several well-known Dutch show band and drum corps. Besides that, he toured through the USA with Dutch Boy Drum & Bugle Corps. He’s also writing music and organizing clinics for different European marching bands, drumcorps, and marching percussion ensembles. With his experience and know-how he makes every workshop an interesting, informative and pleasant experience.
Content of the workshop
The workshop consists of explaining (basic) essential techniques for the different instruments from the marching percussion ensemble, which will be presented in different warm up exercises. We are also studying on a nice cadence or groove. We can adjust the level of the workshop to the levels and years of experience of the participants.

Mallet Technique
There are many European bands and ensembles that work with melodic percussion in addition to untuned percussion, but sometimes there is no specialist available who can tell you more (besides hitting the right bars) about sound, projection, choice of sticks and technique regarding the different melodic instruments?
