It spans a wide variety of moods across multiple sections and begins and concludes with a memorable melodic motif that will linger in the minds of listeners long after the performance.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWith numerous tempo changes and a short but exposed “quasi cadenza” solo in the middle, this piece is ideal for a seasoned ensemble with a high degree of listening skills.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor added programming flexibility, edits are provided for a slightly condensed version.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAffinity was commissioned by and is dedicated to Justin Schramm and the Prior Lake High School Percussion Ensemble (Savage, Minnesota).
